Green Street is Long Island's first and only plant-based/gluten-free food truck. Our goal is to provide healthy and delicious meals that will change the way you think about eating. You won't find any crazy ingredients in our food, just clean eats that are good for you. Our food is made from scratch daily and we show our support to small businesses by sourcing our goods from local vendors such as Lifted Roots Vertical Farms, Allies GF Bakery, Crossroads Farm, and Pleasant Petites.
The story of Green Street started in 2013, when I was training for an Ironman Triathlon. During my quest to find the best way to train, I stumbled across a number of athletes who had transitioned to a plant-based diet. After doing further research, I made the decision to give plant-based eating a go. I went plant-based overnight and within a month began to feel simply amazing. This lifestyle change set my life on a whole new trajectory towards educating others on the benefits of eating more plants. At the end of my 13th year of teaching health and physical education, I changed career paths to follow my new found passion. I began speaking about healthy eating and started leading cooking demos and private cooking classes. Along with my passion to educate others about the benefits of a plant based diet, I also wanted to provide a place for the local community to eat this amazing food. I decided on a food truck because it allows me to be mobile and to provide a greater number of people the opportunity to enjoy wholesome eating. I truly believe that the key to living a healthy life starts with the type of food that we put into our bodies. My intention is to provide high quality food that tastes great and enables everyone who eats it to live a life worth living.
